C4d for Label designs.
C4d Alpha channels for label & packaging design.
Prepare your label in your favorite design software.
Make your label artwork using a design software of your choice, this could be Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, Corel Draw, Photopaint, Xara Xtreme, etc.
After you are done with it, export it to a .jpg format or .tiff or even .png, then go back and make some changes to your label by making it black and white and export it to the same formats too, hold on is not what you are thinking we dont want a grey scale effect applied to your design, what we mean is that you should make
all your visible design (White) and the rest ¨background¨ make it (Black) just as you see in the graphic embed on the right of the paragraph. By doing that we will be able later to apply Alpha channels using Cinema 4d, which allow us to apply our label on to the 3d model and cutoff the unused spaces commonly white areas around our design, Wait to see what we mean.
Apply your label design to the 3d model.
Once you are ready with the label artwork you can apply it to the 3d model in this case a multivitamin recipient, first you need to select the area you wish to apply your label design, so grab the selection tool and select little by little until you have all the desired poligons of the recipient selected, then drag and drop the label to the selected area now you should see the label allready applied to the model, so finally go to the alpha chanel of your design and choose the black and white version of the label design, this will act as a filter and what it does is to make visible all the design elements and cuttof unwanted unused areas, well that is it, now you are ready to render it.
Apply some render metrics and voila!!
At this point we only need to apply some render settings and start render it, so go the render option from the menu and select render settings, select best in the antialising option, then go to Global illumination tab and check GI box, then select standard mode; other render values in GI as strenght, accuracy, stochastic samples depends on how long you want to wait for your render to be ready, you can play with them until you see a satisfactory result in quality of the rendered image Vs time.
